The camera is a stripped downed version of todays digital pocket cameras. The resolution dont have to be as large as it is in the newest cameras you get in the retails. I think it is enough that you can make a good print out of them and of course be able to put them on the web (like myspace, facebook, flickr and so on..).

It is very important that the camera is ready to use out of the box. That means it must support the standard AAA batterys.

The memory is built in and should be in the 512MB-1GB range of flash memory. The camera should be able to store at least 50 pictures of good quality.

It should have a good built in blitz.

It dont have to have to many options (like ISO, WB, Shutter speed and so on). The camera main focus is that it is easy to use so everything should be on Automatic.

It should be light weighted and minimalistic in design, and of course appealing to the customers. It can be produced in two different colours.

It must support USB for data transfer.

The resolution should be around the 3MP. But it can not be any smaller than this.

It should have optical zoom.

The main purpose of this camera is that it offers a much better picture quality than todays cameras that are in the mobile-phones, but not as good as the best of todays digital pocket cameras. You should there for be able to buy one almost instantly if you are for example on a holiday and you just realized that you have forgotten your own digital camera. It is crucial that the IPC is pretty cheap and available in small kiosk (like 7/11) or gas stations.
